Chicken Manure is a popular choice for field fertilizer in central Ohio.
Chicken Manure is being hauled to a local farmer’s fields by Mike’s Trucking.
Why Chicken Manure?
According to The Rodale Book of Composting: Easy Methods for Every Gardener, of all the animal manures, it has the highest amount of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium.
Fresh manure from chickens contains 0.5% to 0.9% nitrogen, 0.4% to 0.5% phosphorus, and 1.2% to 1.7% potassium.
Despite the smell, this is a great option for field fertilization.
